NEED FOR SCIENCE EDUCATION IN INDIA

-Satheesh Krishnan, Aeons Academy

There is a dire need for Science education / activities in our country. Scientific development in recent decades has, and will continue to have, a significant influence on topics that have great importance for humanity, quality of life, and peaceful coexistence amongst peoples. Only Scientific developments can respond to the needs of our society and improve the quality of life of the majority population in our country which lives in poverty. Thus, Science learning has to be seen as necessary for the full realization of a human being.

To establish the place of science for all and to meet the challenge of quality science education, all of us are obliged, not simply from an educational perspective, but also from that of ethics and social commitment, to increase efforts to ensure that our younger generation have access to an appropriate scientific and technological culture.

Aeons Academy (http://a2se.in) is founded by science enthusiasts who are passionate in conducting science activities and experiments to enrich science education. At Aeons, we believe that one of the main ways to have a positive impact on scientific community is to inspire the next generation of children who will contribute to our country’s economic competitiveness.

At Aeons, we engage children in an effective manner using hands-on science activities and help them apply their practical knowledge to use along with the standard curriculum textbooks. We provide children with enrichment sessions that are additional to the standard curricula and teach children life skills, creative skills and co-curricular skills through activities and interactive learning.

Our Objective is to inculcate a hobby in every child where they learn by doing and exploring and where the environment and experiences are in tune with the characteristics of the child. Our aim is to enhance the personality of the child and to build an active scientific community.
